Developmental Projects

IPY technology proposals.
Proposals will be solicited for up to three technologically oriented pilot and instrument-development projects in support of International Polar Year (IPY) activities.

Add-on technology proposals.
As a response to evolving priorities for NOAAs new OER program, PIs of the funded projects are being encouraged to increase the technological aspects of their proposals. Where necessary, we propose to consider small developmental awards to enable technological innovation.

15th Western Groundfish Conference.
The Center is a sponsor for this excellent biennial conference. Topics of discussion will include stock assessment , management targets and thresholds, advanced survey technology, ecosystem analysis, marine protected areas, habitat characterization, and general fishery biology. The conference will be held in Santa Cruz, CA on February 4-8, 2008. http://tundra.iphc.washington.edu/home.php

Symposium on "Use of tagging technology for ecosystem studies," at the American Fisheries Society 137th Annual Meeting.
The Center's Staff Scientist, Dr. Brenda Konar, will convene this all-day oral session at the annual American Fisheries Society meeting in San Francisco, Sept 2-6, 2007. http://web.fisheries.org/sf/
